Back behind the wheel, planning next update


Hi Everyone,

So my life has changed significantly since I first embarked on this project. I live somewhere different, I have a different job, not just at a different company, but what I do each day has changed.  It's taken some time to adapt and I feel I'm ready to continue working on this project again.

I'm really sorry to the fans that bought this and have had no feedback. I understand that silence is the worst, I know this and I can only apologize, move forward and get updates rolling out again.

In and on the topic of better communication, I've setup a discord ( https://discord.gg/cHEAuU ) feel free to pop in and drop your thoughts, ideas, questions, suggestions and any other feedback - or pop in just to brag about your latest high score if you like.

Onwards and forwards: I'm also going to start maintaining a Development Roadmap on Trello ( https://trello.com/b/7RSnyaPA/development-roadmap ) You'll be able to see what's coming next and even add your vote to upcoming features.

What's next though? .. The first update is going to be an engine and library update, as you can imagine the engine and 3rd party libraries have not "stood still" like this project has for the last 2 years, so I'm syncing up, I've actually completed that work and am on the latest engines right now in my source code - as I type this update I'm building a new release, which is just that underlying foundational update which myself and a few friends will try out and make sure all is good before pushing this out to all of you. After that I'll be looking at what's in the Development Roadmap linked above, most specifically more HUD indicators first -- Where was that last base I landed at? How do I find the base that mission asked me to find? -- these directional indicators will be coming on-screen rather than you having to fly blind trying to find them.
